To all who visit the Center for Human Peace and Healing,
we extend our greetings of peace.
Our Center reflects fundamentally on the conditions and goals of peace and well-being required across the individual, social, world, and planetary dimensions, and seeks integrated alternatives in scholarship and practice.
The Center began with a deep inquiry into ‘Integral Peace’ and ‘Total Peace’—that is, ‘the peace of peace’—which originates in ‘Human Peace’ and extends to ‘Planetary Peace’. Through collaborative research across many disciplines, we strive to diagnose and analyze, on multiple levels, inner and outer peace, personal and social peace, and world peace and peace with nature, and to connect and integrate them.
Accordingly, taking as our axes the domains of life, biology, climate, and nature; mind, spirit, faith, and religion; medicine, health, healing, and recovery; economy, society, welfare, and population; and politics, law, institutions, and international affairs, we strive to explore, in theory and in practice, a single ideal state of Integral Peace.
Over the years, the Center has actively pursued wide-ranging discussions and collaborative research on new and diverse themes, as well as international conferences and joint international research. As our record of activities shows, we have been actively developing discourse, identifying agendas, conducting empirical field research, and building international research partnerships. We plan to organize this diverse body of research systematically and to introduce it, step by step, in Korea and abroad. This work includes contributions from many of the world’s leading scholars in their fields.
The Center for Human Peace and Healing will continue its active collaboration with scholars and institutions in Korea and abroad, and will grow into a research institution that contributes to the peace and well-being of humankind through research that pursues the theory and practice of ‘Human Peace,’ ‘Planetary Peace,’ and ‘Integral Peace’ together.
With greetings of peace, we warmly welcome your interest and support. Thank you.
